With the current changes the Lagos state government has put into effect in 2020, it is safe to say Lagos is increasingly no longer for everyone. Therefore if you are considering relocating, here are 10 reasons to relocate to Abuja.

1. Transportation systems are good

Unlike Lagos state, transportation is very good in Abuja. Road systems are also good and traffic is minimal. Also kekes are allowed!

2. It is clean

Abuja is generally safe, but as with any city, caution and common sense should still be exercised. Visitors need to be aware that there are risks of armed robbery and carjacking. Avoid driving after dark.

4. Growing population for Business

United Nations figures showed that Abuja grew by 139.7% between 2000 and 2010, making it the fastest-growing city in the world.

5. Food is very affordable

Who doesn’t love Suya? Honestly, it’s one of Northern Nigeria’s best products; delicious grilled and spiced beef, chicken, ram, gizzard etc. Abuja has some of the most delicious and cheapest Suya in Nigeria.

6. Loads of Entertainment

From Jabi Lake Mall to Abuja amusement park, Abuja has a lot of fun places to go to.

7. Sight-seeing

The skyline of the city, which was built largely in the 1980s, is dominated by Aso Rock, an enormous monolith. Therefore, Abuja has a lot of sights to see.

8. Good Weather

Abuja has a fairly cool temperature and is classified as tropical wet and dry climate. In the dry season, daytime temperatures can soar as high as 40 °C (104.0 °F) and nighttime temperatures can dip to 12 °C (53.6 °F).

9. Better power distribution

Overall, power distribution in Nigeria is very poor. However, in comparison to Lagos, Abuja’s power is far more constant. An added benefit, less noise pollution.

10. Expats and diversity
