On Tuesday morning, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission raided the Epe home of former governor of Lagos State Ambode on claims of alleged fraud of N9.9b by the former governor of Lagos state.
While they were met with resistance from Epe residents, The commission’s spokesman, Mr Tony Orilde told News outlets that the visit was not a raid but part of an ongoing investigation of the Ambode administration like other former governors since they no longer constitutionally enjoy immunity against prosecution.
He pressed that the ongoing investigation is not to be carried out in the media and any attempts to paint EFCC in a bad light is unacceptable.
Three bank accounts linked to Ambode will also be frozen as part of the investigation.
