Extreme Heat causing Bumblebee disappearance at a shocking decline previously predicted by Black mirror. In season 4 of the UK, now Netflix TV series, Black Mirror predicts a world without bees.

According to an article published by thehill on this study, Bumblebee populations have been on the decline for years but due to growing global temperatures could now disappear in a few decades.

This study comes after Australian fire crisis in January. Climate change activist, Greta Thunberg also spoke on this issue at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on January 21, 2020.

“Bumblebees are the best pollinators we have in wild landscapes and the most effective pollinators for crops like tomato, squash, and berries,” Soroye said. “Our results show that we face a future with much fewer bumblebees and less diversity, both in the outdoors and on our plates.”

“It’s these extreme events throughout the year that’s pushing bees beyond what they’ve ever had to handle before,” Soroye said. “And that seems to be driving a lot of the disappearances in bees.”

Researchers warned that if declines of species continue at this pace, many of these species could vanish forever within a few generations.

Another global concern for food is the Locust Plague in East Africa.
