Nigeria is currently suffering a dictatorship-like government with its current presidency Buhari who has banned free speech in Nigeria with a ban on journalism, Twitter, and newspapers. The government has also placed a ban on protests in the country.

From 2019, American- Nigerian Journalist Sowore has been arrested and illegally detained for speaking against the government and its human rights infringements.

The situation escalated back in October 2020 with the END SARS protests when the government sanctioned violence against peaceful protesters, with the army ending the 2-week peaceful protests by firing bullets at unarmed protesters. Most of the violence was captured by DJ switch on social media which led to the ban on free speech as the president has tried to cover its tracks internationally.

Since then, the presidency has been under investigation by international media since the nation is part of the commonwealth and has signed peace accords.

Victoria has claimed to have made the move to protest and draw international attention to citizens suffering in Nigeria under government hardship and genocide.

Victoria Udeh is 23 years old and she’s also a mental health advocate, often taking to her social media to encourage people to love themselves and reach out.
