On Thursday October 29th, 2020, Paul Okoye went on his instagram livestream to chat with fans and condemn the minister of information ongoing talks to ban social media.

Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot speaking during plenary, on the recent #EndSARS protests across the country said "Social media has its negative impact."

"Please celebrities, social media influencers, stop the hatred already." He said . pic.twitter.com/lzAnTquRq2

This is not the first time the ministry of information has attempted to place sanctions and control social media, with an anti social media bill attempted late in 2019 and earlier in 2020.

QZ put out an article on how social media impacted the Nationwide protests here.

In the livestream, Paul calls their methods old school, and compares infrastructure in European countries with the lack of infrastructure in Nigeria despite large budgets set aside in the past.

He mocks the N1bn Budget allocated for the Nigerian police website which is usually done for 100k – 1m in Nigeria.

Paul also took the time to send condolences to heroes who lost their lives at the Lekkimassacre.

He also urged Nigerians to put aside religious and tribal sentiments and redirect their frustrations towards those in political power.

Paul went on to advocate for young people to get their PVCs in the upcoming 2023 election as well as educate and empower political thugs to support the youth and the future of Nigeria.
